David has significant experience in talent management and succession planning. He works with senior leaders to create talent pipeline strategies and then from his own skill base and calling on the wider ChangeMaker expertise supports them in the implementation.

His unique ability enables organisations to identify and build their Talent Pipeline, design and deliver Global Leadership development solutions, and to implement Change and Transformation Projects and HR Capability Programmes.

David is a Master Associate of Lominger International and Korn/Ferry Leadership Development Solutions. In the last 2 years projects have included developing and implementing succession and talent management solutions and competency frameworks with Global HR teams in Denmark, Germany, UK, Russia, USA, China and Asia. Recent achievements include:

  • Introducing a fully integrated approach to talent development across all countries and operations world-wide for a Global Insurance organisation.
  • Working on 2 continents for an International shipping company designing and developing an extended duration modular approach to talent development for operational leaders; this involves integrated business projects and measurable performance output.
  • A project with an IT services business to focus on aspects of change through a practical tool-kit of techniques and understanding the behavioural implications of change to enable more successful and sustainable project implementation.

David gained his early commercial experience in the travel industry and then moved to Nestlé in sales and marketing. His career path took him to Kraft UK, as Training & Development Manager, as it grew rapidly through major acquisitions and mergers. During this time he created a highly business focused training function and was responsible for developing a "one company culture" through a widely applied Continuous Improvement Programme, a senior manager pan-European Coaching initiative and a focused performance management process. The results set an all industry benchmark for the Leading Edge Project study led by the London Business School. He became Chairman of Kraft's International Learning and Development Council and worked in senior management development roles in Europe and International, working as a director across every continent. David also designed and led the Senior Executive global development programmes for Kraft's top 180 leaders.

As a ChangeMaker director David brings this varied experience of international organisation redesign, succession planning and management development policy and practice to bear on his work with clients. He also thrives on working with country leadership teams bringing his challenging style to the facilitation of team effectiveness workshops.

When not working David can usually be found at F1 Grand Prix, fixing computers (whilst cursing Mr Gates!) or with his far flung relatives in Spain and Australia catching the sun and wine!
